Psychiatrist

Dr Leo Ryan (MBBS, BSc, LLB(Hons), FRANZCP)

Dr Ryan has been working full-time in psychiatry since 2005. He completed specialist training and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Psychiatrists in 2011. All Dr Ryan’s tertiary qualifications, including medical degree, were obtained at the University of Queensland where he is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer. He completed his psychiatric training at Princess Alexandra, Mater Children’s, and Royal Brisbane Hospitals. Dr Ryan accepts adult patients’ problems including bipolar disorder, depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders and psychotic disorders.

Lisa Grice (RN, CDE, CPT)

Lisa Grice Private Diabetes Educator is located in Rockhampton and visits Nhulundu Health Service to provide service to the local community. Lisa is a diabetes educator with expertise in diabetes self-management, pre-diabetes, pregnancy, insulin initiation, insulin pumps, gestational diabetes, type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes.

Sarah Mackay (RN, CDE)

Sarah Mackay (RN, CDE) is a Diabetes Educator with 14 years of experience working in the Gladstone Region. Sarah has recently completed her graduate certificate in diabetes education and management and is a Credentialed Diabetes Educator. She is passionate about supporting lifestyle modifications, holistic health, and weight loss to help her patients manage their diabetes effectively.

Sarah has been working as a diabetes educator for two years and completed her diabetes education training at Southern Cross University Gold Coast. Sarah specialises in self-management, pre-diabetes, GDM, pregnancy, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, insulin pumps, CGM, and insulin initiation. Her expertise and caring approach have made her a valuable team member, and we are thrilled to have her helping our patients with their diabetes management needs.

Gladstone Hospital Midwives

Our Antenatal Clinic provides expectant mothers with comprehensive care and support throughout their pregnancy. The clinic is held once per week
on Wednesdays in partnership with the Gladstone Hospital midwives. Our team of experienced professionals will monitor your pregnancy, answer any questions you may have, and provide you with the information you need to have a healthy pregnancy and delivery. We look forward to helping you and your baby have a happy and healthy journey.

Cardiac Care

Indigenous Cardiac Outreach Program (iCOP)

The Indigenous Cardiac Outreach Program was established in 2007 and is based within the Prince Charles hospital. It is a specialist cardiac outreach service that delivers point of care diagnostic and cardiovascular disease screening to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in rural and remote areas of Queensland. The services are delivered by a team that includes an Indigenous clinic coordinator, a cardiac specialist, sonographer, and nurse educator. Services include chronic disease screening, tertiary level cardiac consultations, echocardiography and stress testing.
