Dr Leo Ryan

Psychiatrist - (MBBS, BSc, LLB(Hons), FRANZCP)

Dr Ryan has been working full-time in psychiatry since 2005. He completed specialist training and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Psychiatrists in 2011. All Dr Ryan’s tertiary qualifications, including medical degree, were obtained at the University of Queensland where he is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer. He completed his psychiatric training at Princess Alexandra, Mater Children’s, and Royal Brisbane Hospitals. Dr Ryan accepts adult patients’ problems including bipolar disorder, depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders and psychotic disorders.

Specialist Social Worker

Specialist Social Worker, Dr Ken O’Brien, offers a wide range of culturally relevant and meaningful approaches to personal, family and community mental health and wellbeing. With a focus on helping clients to identify and understand their unique strengths, he assists them in creating environments and situations where these strengths are valued and contribute to improved mental health and wellbeing. Dr Ken’s speciality areas include intergenerational transmission of traumatic stress, strength-focused therapies, cognitive-behavioural therapy, parenting strategies, critical incident therapies, relaxation, suicide postvention, grief and loss and psycho-education leadership.

Lisa Grice

Diabetes Educator - (RN, CDE, CPT)

Lisa Grice Private Diabetes Educator is in Rockhampton and visits Nhulundu Health Service to provide service to the local community. Lisa is a diabetes educator with expertise in diabetes self-management, pre-diabetes, pregnancy, insulin initiation, insulin pumps, gestational diabetes, type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes

Michael Young

Optometrist

You can find Michael providing a service to Nhulundu Health Service two days every 2 months. Michael is a provider under the Mass Glasses Scheme, and appointments can be made through reception.

Dr Tommy Tran

Paediatrician - (BPhty (Hons), MBBS (Hons), FRACP )

Dr Tran graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and went on to study medicine at the University of Queensland. He was awarded the John Rendle Short memorial prize in child health and completed paediatric training in 2012. Dr Tran has worked in many regional centres and has a special interest in rural medicine. Dr Tran has trained in paediatrics predominantly at the Mater Children’s Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. He completed his specialist training in 2012 and established a private practice at Greenslopes Private Hospital. Dr Tran currently serves as the Director of Paediatrics at Greenslopes Private Hospital. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland, School of Medicine and the clinical lead in Paediatrics.

Indigenous Cardiac Outreach Program

Cardiac Care

The Indigenous Cardiac Outreach Program was established in 2007 and is based within the Prince Charles hospital. It is a specialist cardiac outreach service that delivers point of care diagnostic and cardiovascular disease screening to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in rural and remote areas of Queensland. The services are delivered by a team that includes an Indigenous clinic coordinator, a cardiac specialist, sonographer, and nurse educator. Services include chronic disease screening, tertiary level cardiac consultations, echocardiography and stress testing.
